I make apps that I wished existed.

The small jobs
Six apps, each doing one job properly. Four out now, two on the way.

Done: Remember the birthday. And the present. And the card.
View on the App Store
Sorted by PressieBirthday & gift listI made this app because I wanted help remembering birthdays and gifts. Pressie counts down to every birthday, anniversary and Christmas, keeps each person’s gift ideas, budget and card in one place, and its reminders never name the present, so a glance at your lock screen won’t spoil the surprise.
-
Done: Stop the kids’ room looking burgled
View on the App Store
Sorted by Tidy StarsChore & reward chart for kidsI made this app because of my boy’s bedroom. Kids of about 8 and under pick a job, get it done and earn a star, and the stars add up to a treat you choose together, so tidying up becomes a win rather than a row.
Big buttons, cheerful colours, room for siblings. The Lego remains your problem.

Done: Stop guessing your mileage at tax time
View on the App Store
Sorted by QuidometerUK mileage trackerI made this app because anyone who uses their vehicle for work needs to track their mileage, and it really helps at tax time. Tap Start, drive, slide to stop: it works out your claim at HMRC rates (55p a mile for the first 10,000 business miles in 2026–27, then 25p), tots up your tax year and exports a CSV or PDF for your return or your accountant. It even estimates the CO2 from each trip and your whole tax year, alongside your claim.
No auto-detect guessing, no phantom trips. Just your miles, turning into quids.
-
Done: Check the crypto without handing over your email
View on the App Store
Sorted by CryptoHODLPrivate crypto portfolio trackerI made this app because I wanted to check my own crypto privately. It shows live prices, your portfolio’s value and your gains and losses in GBP, USD or EUR, with no account, no login and no cloud sync, so your holdings stay on your phone.
It tracks. It doesn’t advise, cheerlead or shout “to the moon”.

In progress: Work out what to sow, and where you put the leeks
Coming soon
Being sorted by Fork HandlesAllotment planner for UK growersI made this app because I wanted one for my allotment. Each month it shows what to sow indoors, sow outdoors, plant out and harvest; you log what you’ve planted in which bed, and it reminds you about a month, then a week, before each crop should be ready, with optional nudges to sow another row.
-
In progress: Get dinner on the table when you said it would be
Coming soonBeing sorted by The Big Dinner TimerChristmas, roast & BBQ timingsI made this app because I wanted to get a roast’s timings right. Tell it when you want to eat and it works backwards through every job, from fridge defrost to gravy, for Christmas dinner, a Sunday roast or a barbecue, with a reminder on your phone for each one and a Running late button that moves the lot.
For whoever’s holding the oven gloves, and everyone’s expectations.
About
Dunnaway Apps is Mike Dunnaway, an independent iPhone developer in the UK. He makes the apps he wished already existed, then shares them.
One person, a handful of apps, and a firm view that your data belongs on your phone rather than in someone’s “engagement strategy”.
Contact
Questions, bugs, ideas or the occasional kind word. It’s the same address the apps use for support.
A real inbox, with a real person at the other end.
